Michael has exclusively practiced family law since 2010. He has experience handling all aspects of family law matters, including dissolution of marriage, division of property, valuation and characterization of property, spousal and child support, child custody, and post-judgment modification and enforcement matters.
Michael has experience with complex dissolution matters, including working with experts on tracing, income available for support, and business valuation issues. His experience involves extensive valuation litigation related to early-stage start-up companies in technology and biomedical spaces, as well as the complicated issues related to character and equitable apportionment of business interests.
In 2019, Michael participated in the nationally renowned trial practice program of the National Family Law Trial Institute (Houston). He has worked with clients throughout Northern California and all of the North Bay counties.
Michael earned his B.A. in Cultural Anthropology from the University of California at Santa Cruz (2000) and his J.D. from Empire College School of Law (2008). He is a member of the California Bar Association and the Sonoma County Bar Association.
Michael has served as a volunteer for the Sonoma County Self-Help Access Center (2005) and as a member of the Board of Directors for the Luther Burbank Rose Parade & Festival (2014-2015).
